I went to the National Cultural Centre today, which is basically a large art market down past Independence Square. I just went to look around (and to get to ride a tro-tro). The main cultural center looks like it has a lot of shops packed with curios, but I was greeted by a couple of craftsmen from the adjoining "producer's lane", so I walked down by where the people who make some of the crafts have their workshops, sometimes with stores attached.

All of the members of their community (from the Bolgatanga district in the Upper-East Region) have the mark on their left cheek put on them at birth.
